First Night
We landed in Rome about 6pm and arrived at our our apartment, situated on the 3 floor overlooking Campo di' Fiori, about 2 hours later. Patti really did well picking this place right on a very popular piazza that is abuzz with people almost 24 hours a day.
After we arrived we went out for some exploring and to find a supermercati and of course pizza and gelato.
The piazza was alive with people long after we laid down to try to get seem sleep, but sleep eluded me. At 3:00 in the morning about four really big cheers overwhelmed the background noise maker that we had running on the iPad. Riley, who was not sleeping, and I rushed to the window to see a bride and his groom for whom when they kissed the plaza would erupt with cheering.
As I type this I am listening to the produce vendors set up their tents for today's market. When we arrived last night it was and art market and the restaurants that lined the square were bustling.
