Ancient Rome
Today we toured the Coleseum, Palatine Hill and the Forum during the day and took an evening walk from Campo dei Fiori to the Spanish Steps.
I thought the Arch of Titus was interesting as it commemorated the destruction of Jerusalem in A.D. 70 and a fulfillment of Jesus' prophecy that the generation that was with Him in A.D. 33 would see this come to pass. God would no longer dwell in a temple built by men, but would dwell in the hearts of those called by His name. You can see here the depiction of the Temple Menora being carried back to Rome. What struck me was how prominent this arch was in the Forum and how significant the fall of Jerusalem was even to its conquerors.
The girls displayed the traits of their grandmothers as both being able to shop until their parents dropped and driving a hard bargain. Tara was able to talk a street vendor down from 10€ for one oriental umbrella to 10€ for two umbrellas.
All of our Rome images are HERE. Keep in mind they are unedited and just a dump of the days takes.
Thanks for sharing the Arch of Titus....
