Sorry Folks
Our LAX check-in with Japan Airlines caused a flashback to our challenges entering mainland China as we were held at the counter while layers and layers of management personnel tried to figure out whether we could board the plane.
We have a 'Visa on Arrival' arrangement which should be pretty standard but apparently not for this crew. Finally the right manager arrived, and after giving our situation the once over, he cleared us to go. Now we will see what happens when we land in Hanoi ;-)
In an hour and a half from this post we fly for 12 hours and land in Narita, Japan then board again for our last leg of 6.5 hours to Hanoi.
Tara saved up 5,000,000 VND (Vietnamese Dong) over the last year to spend in Vietnam. We are not sure what she is going to buy with all that money. She is already bingeing on food like Corn Nuts and Starbucks. Riley saved 6,000,000 VND but says she will only spend 2,600,000 VND as she needs to save up to by a condo. Riley has wanted her own condo for as long as I can remember.
For reference, 1 USD = 21,099.1 VND
My blogging app has been causing me some challenges so I have been posting a few miscellaneous posts along the way, like this one, to see if I can figure out the bugs.
Product placement fashion shots - and you might notice that these are also yesterday's clothes.
